Navigation course description
Course Materials are mailed out upon registration.
ONLINE and CLASSROOM - Instructor support is available within three months of enrollment. An extra exam fee is applied to any missed, moved or repeat exam sittings.
ONLINE REMOTE- Register for an exam sitting date.
CLASSROOM - Six evenings over three weeks (Sat-Wed-Sat-Wed-Sat-Wed) 6pm to 9pm

Coastal Navigation - course details
ADVANCED Navigation
Learn the role of the navigator, aids to navigation, tools and techniques, publications, read charts, find positions, plot and label courses, create pilotage plans, use electronics effectively |
CELESTIAL Navigation
Near shore navigation, including methods to determine position, adjusting for current, and leeway, calculating intermediate tidal height, and passage planning. |
Navigation Workshop
Hands on chart work, pilotage exercises, review navigation aids and chart symbols. For homestudy navigation students or experienced students seeking a review. |
