ADVANCED CHALLENGE - 5 DAYS

Who is this course for?
This course is for experienced sailors who want to challenge themselves.
A 48 hr non-stop sail is at the core of the course. You will practice coastal navigation by day and night,  demonstrate two different crew overboard recovery procedures and sail efficiently on all points of sail in any wind condition by day & night.
This challenge is intensive and we recommend taking the five day prep course prior to sign up for this course.

Format:  5 days liveaboard, including a 48 hr non stop sailing
Certification:  Sail Canada Advanced Standard

Prerequisites
- Intermediate Cruising Standard
​- PCOC
- Intermediate coastal navigation standard
- VHF - ROC(M)

- First Aid
Recommended
- 40 days sailing  experience
- 20 days as skipper
- 10 nights as skipper and navigator

- 500 NM
- Advanced prep-course

course Description

We board the boat on day one and do a systems check. We discuss the navigation plan for the course and prepare the boat for night sailing.  On day two we set sail for the 48 hr non-stop sail which will take us across the of Strait of Georgia and through the Gulf Islands. We will sail through the night.  Coastal Navigation by day and night will be a focus. The itinerary will be adjusted depending on weather to make the most of the training.
